Good insights crispin,
It was enough of a challenge to get the artisans to hold thenecessary 2mm wobble tolerance about the circumference --- along the main axis. The spike elements are concrete nails which have lengthwise striations . There is little tendency to side-thrust material. We also experimented with addition of a chopper element such as ah shown in its larger TMC cousin and that definitely required a flywheel. but as much of the action is not a continuous rotation in one direction but trashier an osi collating motion with heavier material the flywheel adds little

Dear Richard
I am surprised to see the working bits of the mini TMC have a spiral from one side to the other for the reason that it creates a constant thrust in one direction. Have you not tried putting a Vee-pattern rather like a tractor tire, bringing everything constantly to the centre and away from the edges?
That takes the load off the side walls and removes the axial thrust. It looks like a pretty good unit. Is there a flywheel hidden in there somewhere?
Thanks
Crispin
Our mini TMC (developed for use here in Central America)is less technically sensitive, more manageable in the field with less skills and lighter at 25 kegs but it is not
designed to handle coconut husks.
would not.
