Dear Christa

If you can, it would be good to have a few trials. It is an upgraded Anglo
Supra which was itself an upgraded Anglo (ang-lo) from Thailand. I believe
the Anglo Supra was developed by Robert van der Plas, ex-WB and now very
active in E4A, C4D, CSI, UB-CAP and other projects.

The changes between the Anglo Supra (AS) and the Anglo Supra Nova (ASN) are
the inclusion of 16 horizontal secondary air holes and the preheating of
the secondary air. This 'channel around' is also used by the POCA In Maputo
whereby secondary air is moved around the outside of the combustion chamber
and injected low enough under the pot to be able to get a flame burned
properly.

In theory it is a charcoal stove but it works well with wood and there is a
conversion with a removable side port to be able to use longer sticks passed
into the combustion chamber without cutting them into short pieces.

It is also a good pellet stove. I used the paper-on-the-bottom as the
controller of the primary air during the pyrolysis phase. For pellets that
are made into char, there should be a fine grate added to the bottom to hold
the char well enough to burn it.

The grate is removable.

You can see there is a metal bucket on the outside.

Here is the inner liner made from clay

The gap between is not filled with anything in the ASN, it is the preheating
channel. The primary air is controllable with a block so the power can be
controlled very well without interfering with the combustion. The ASN is
slightly cheaper than the AS because it does not have rice hull ash
installed as a filler in what is now the air heating space.

Here is the liner in the metal case.

Here it is lit. You will notice immediately there is basically no smoke even
though it is still ignition. The lighting cone was used to shorten the
ignition time.

There is no smoke to be seen during ignition and it is several times faster
to light. The same applies when lighting pellets.

You might be able to get a stove through Christina Aristanti at YDD.

They retail for $5.50. I checked the heat transfer efficiency and it is
about 50%, same as the AS.

Crispin

Dear Crispin, this Anglo Supra Nova stove is quite interesting as well and I
would love to get one to Germany. any ideas how best to do that?

I have got a colleague flying to Indonesia on Saturday for a week. in which
areas is the stove sold? how and where would he get one?

Regards Christa
