It really helps if you have an Aloe Vera plant growing in a pot, etc. nearby, - peel the skin off the leaf so you apply the moist flesh directly to the burn every minute or two - whenever the sting threatens to return, usually the pain is gone in an hour or less and healing very quick thereafter.
