[Stoves] Good enough stove?

Dear Friends
Retesting a stove is always a good idea to see if there was a) any equipment
problem and b) to confirm unusual findings.
Another good one:
PM2.5 3.5 mg/MJ delivered
CO 3.8 g/MJ delivered
Energy efficiency 33.4% (based on raw fuel consumed per replication,
reusable fuel carried forward to the next replication)
WBT efficiency 49.5% (based on energy from the fuel burned, crediting char)
This highlights the difference between reporting the energy efficiency and
the thermal efficiency, respectively. If a tier of performance is rating the
thermal efficiency (heat transfer efficiency x combustion efficiency)
instead of the energy efficiency, there is a factor or 1.5 difference
between the numbers. Which would you finance: a reduction in the energy
drawn from the forest? Or a reduction in the energy released from the fuel
consumed?
This is a subject worthy of discussion. The timing is also good as the ISO
is working on this right now.
Regards
Crispin
