Dear colleagues,
I facilitate a new Gender in Practice Community of Practice (GiP CoP
<http://genderinpractice.afdb.org/en/>) formed around the Gender Focal
Points at the African Development Bank (AfDB).

I would like to invite you to join our first online discussion titled Light
Up and Power Africa for Women and Men
<http://genderinpractice.afdb.org/en/content/launch-online-discussion-light-and-power-africa-women-and-men>
. The discussion seeks to examine issues of gender inequality in the energy
sector and offer solutions and insight which the Bank can use in the
implementation of its initiatives.

Your insight and expertise as practitioners and/or academics would be of
great value to this discussion which is intended to support the Gender
Focal Points and other practitioners at the African Development Bank in
their work to buttress the implementation of the New Deal on Energy for
Africa initiative.

The discussion will be held in 3 phases which will address *gender
inequality in Access to energy; in distribution and production of energy;
and finally in the sustainable use of energy. *

*Phase 1* of the discussion focuses on gender inequality in access to energy
