Five star reviews for a "taste of clean cooking"
that Leaves No One Behind - coming next to a global stage!
Last week Kigali was host to the Sustainable Energy Forum East Africa, at the luxurious Serena hotel. We took advantage of the out of town guests to showcase our clean cooking solution, making and serving fresh amandazi to the distinguished guests. Look at that gleaming pot--not a hint of smudge or smoke! So clean, and yet half the cost of charcoal. Immediately following this event our CEO Eric Reynolds helped anchor a panel on clean cooking that was also very well received.

Next we're taking our demonstration to the global Sustainable Energy Forum in Lisbon May 2-3. We hope to run into some of you there, and share a fresh made taste of sustainable clean cooking, Made in Rwanda.

Inyenyeri steals the (road) show
Recently Inyenyeri has been on the road with a traveling show from the Ministry of Infrastructure and UNECA, highlighting clean cooking alternatives. Hosted by Ms. Rwanda and featuring many of the top pop acts in the country, the events drew huge crowds and interest - much of it aimed at us! Sharp eyes will note in the photos below our "Tea Time" and new "Better Together" videos getting played on a loop from the stage.

We were mobbed with attention for good reason--the price of charcoal has jumped 30% in just the last month, making pellets only half the cost. Ours is the only solution that offers cleaner cooking, better living, and lower cost to every household, no matter their income.
"Here in Rwanda, you have got people who are innovating business models the rest of the world is looking at. For example, pellets for cooking."

"In the power vacuum of the eastern Democratic Republic of Congo, rampant charcoal logging has destroyed huge swathes of Virunga National Park. That threatens the rare gorillas which tourists currently pay as much as $400 a day to view, even as it fuels the conflict..."

Read this ECONOMIST story about the illegal charcoal trade and it's impacts, (https://www.economist.com/news/middle-east-and-africa/21739782-stopping-dirty-business-not-easy-how-illegal-charcoal-fuels-war-and-harms?utm_source=Inyenyeri&utm_campaign=379c2f4873-EMAIL_CAMPAIGN_2018_03_28&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_9d75a672b9-379c2f4873-16027657) including just over the board rom where we're working, in Virunga National Park, part of the diminished range of the endangered Mountain Gorillas

We're expanding! Inyenyeri opens three new hubs in the Nyabihu district

We opened new collection and distribution hubs in Kibisabo, Rurembo, Kabashumba, and already have an average 75% adoption rate. Our key barrier to growth right now is expanding our pellet capacity, and we're expecting to open a new plant in Mukamira--right in the heart of Nyabihu--later this year.
