London cyclists should avoid pollution on busy roads by opting for a
quieter commute home, scientists warn

Phoebe Weston, Evening Standard 2 April 2019
" Caused by the incomplete combustion of fossil fuels, the toxic gas is
produced by cook stoves, wood burning and diesel engines.
" Unlike carbon dioxide which takes several decades to stabilise after
emissions reductions begin, black carbon remains in the atmosphere for just
a few weeks. This means cutting emissions could immediately reduce the rate
of warming.
"The most effective way to reduce the exposure is reducing emissions at the
source," researchers wrote in the study, published by the Journal of
Transport Geography."
I find these assertions irrelevant or untenable.
