[Stoves] Charcoal pellets (was farmed fuels)

Crispin, 
what diameters/sizes would you recommend for charcoal pellets? 

I haven’t had much luck with natural draft when they were charred pellets originally from 6mm-wood pellets, that end up about 3-4 mm diameter charcoal pellets. Not enough airflow through the charcoal bed.
