Paul:

The question in my mind is, what are the Terms of Reference for the UNF - remember, CCA has no legal standing to contract, it is the UN Foundation that contracts with Dalberg or the World Bank - and who has approved this survey instrument?

I don’t know if I qualify for the survey and can read its contents. I believe if you have concerns about the survey, Dalberg and CCA must provide a public rationale to you or provide the contact details for the ultimate party in interest, the World Bank and/or the Loughborough University.

What, pray tell, is “access to modern energy cooking services”? Why should anybody let CCA and Dalberg get away with presumptuous gassing?

Don’t fuss whether you are a business or non-profit. That question itself is meaningless. UNF is a non-profit with multimillion dollar revenues from investments and contracts and pay fat salaries to its directors. (Good business but revenues seem to be going down. GACC staff left in good time.)

But I was required to have an answer in order to continue. So I continued and the survey did not get any better. Then it got worse (see next).

Note: Maybe there would have been a different tacked-on survey depending on how I responded to the previous question that might have been a filter. (I cannot go back into the survey to find out, and I do not want to waste any more of my time.)

>> If others have taken the CCA survey, your comments (even if contradicting mine) would be appreciated. The link is below, in case anyone wants to look a what is being asked. But if you do, and if you give fake answers so that you can go to the next page of questions, please do NOT finish the survey and do NOT submit fake results. Give CCA and the workers a chance to try to maximize what they can from this survey.
> [RWL: I wouldn’t worry about giving fake answers. They can eliminate any particular survey if they wish from the averages they are looking for. The important thing is that they hear about char-making stoves and small producers. At least this particular survey is not addressing the stove needs of the poorest - so this is a sufficient message to send.
