This is just one series of tests but the results were expected based on
previous observational reporting. And it makes sense. Lifting the cobs
off the ground to allow air under them should improve efficiency.

Maize is the most-produced cereal worldwide.
Maize is the most important food crop in Africa.
Many smallholder farmers in Africa grow maize.
Many women use maize cobs for fuel.
Typically women pile the cobs on the ground to burn under a cookpot.
Many countries near the equator have 2 harvests.
In some countries, maybe most countries, cobs are left to rot in the fields
of commercial farms.

I've been told that in Southwest Uganda, they have three harvests. Women
cook with cobs for 1-2 months after each harvest, or 3-6 months each year.
Improving efficiency by a third means not cooking with wood for 1-2 more
months a year.

Thank you,
Kevin
