[Stoves] .... How to Make Biomass Energy Sustainable Again_Coppicing_Pollards_Hedgerows_Line Plantings

The lignocellulosic biomass produced in agriculture is considered
agricultural waste. India produces annually about 800 million tonnes of it.
A part of it is currently converted in India into fuel briquettes, which
are used as boiler fuel. The briquette manufacturers pay a price to farmers
for their agricultural waste. I found that this raw material can also be
used for producing biogas. The nondigestible residue from the biogas plant
can then be turned into fuel briquettes. A company in India, named "Praj"
have recently announced that they have developed a process by which the
cellulose in agricultural waste can be converted into alcohol. Some
researchers in India are also working on converting methane into methyl
alcohol. The agricultural waste generated in India has almost 2.5 times as
much energy as the petroleum imported by India. But since the Government
imports all the petroleum, it is a big source of revenue for the
government. Therefore, as far as I know, all the research on biomass energy
is being conducted in the non-government sector.
