Bioenergy plays an important role in the domestic and industrial energy
needs of Kenyans. The Government of Kenya is committed to 100% access to
modern bioenergy services including clean cooking by 2028, two years ahead
of the schedule set in the Kenya Sustainable Energy for All (SEforAll)
Action Agenda. Improvements in the bioenergy sector will play a critical
role in achieving these targets through sustainable production and
efficient use of biomass, waste to energy conversion and development of
biofuels.

In this virtual session speakers from the Kenyan Government represented by
the Ministry of Energy, civil society and private sector stakeholders as
well as development partners will discuss the various aspects of the Kenya
Bioenergy Strategy.

The objectives of this webinar are to:

Outline how the country will promote sustainable production, distribution
and utilization of bioenergy as a clean source of energy to achieve its
bioenergy goals,

Demonstrate how promotion of sustainable production and consumption of
bioenergy will contribute to health, economic and environmental benefits
for Kenyan citizens,

Explain the strategic interventions that will promote development and
sustainable utilization of bioenergy resources in Kenya over the 2020-2027
period,

Discuss how public sector, academia, research institutions, civil society,
development partners and private sector stakeholders including investors
can engage in implementation of the strategy, and

Outline the next steps in the implementation of the action plan to provide
bioenergy solutions to Kenyans.
