the one from you are the first incoming messages to reach me.   

 

As Patrica just now wrote, she decided to send to the TWO addresses.   Which
one is reaching  me, I do not know.   Because it is a receiving problem for
me, could you a test message A and B version via the  two addresses?   Then
I can let you know what is reaching me now.       

 

We would like to hear from some others about what they are receiving (or
not).

 

I would like to see the Stoves discussion group be with the same service
that the Biochar group has, if that is reasonable.

The stoves list is still active with 943 subscribers. We don't know how many
are "live". Only a few have posted in recent months including Andrew,
Crispin, Ron, Kevin, Rogerio, Stephen Joseph etc. Some, like Chalrie, have
just been quiet.  You posted in October and December 2021. 

 

We have considered migrating the list to the Groups.io server where we host
Biochar which we migrated from Yahoo. . There are advantages, including a
smart phone app, but we would like to preserve the archives and we don't
know if that is possible yet.

I am in favor of Retained  Heat Cookers.    But I write here about the
STOVES LIST SERVE.    This is the FIRST message I have received in over 2
years.    Why did it come through?   (Note that Patricia sent to TWO
addresses, and we do not know yet which one worked.)

 

Now we will  see if MY message reaches anyone?   Kirk, Dean, Tom, Christa,
Ron, Crispin, Dave, and all the others.   Please reply so I / we know what

teaching a group of Mexican women how to make retained heat baskets. I took
that photo in 2008 when Larry and I were in Mexico together on a Rotary

Back in 2001, Dean Still inspired me with something he posted on the
stovers' list serve:  "In a perfect world, perhaps with a great,
non-polluting wood stove, would come a retained heat cooker (Haybox), a

I remember back in January 2011, at the DOE-sponsored Biomass Stoves
Technical meeting many of us attended, when I was asked by Sam Baldwin to
refrain from even mentioning the words "solar cooking" during the two-day
meeting. 

 

I complied with his request, but when one of the speakers proposed adding a
'simmer' function to the stoves, I raised my hand and suggested that it
might be more cost effective to teach people how to make and use retained
heat baskets rather than trying to engineer a 'simmer' function that would
eventually break.  My suggestion was also shot down.
