[Gasification] UBC project

Not on subject of gasification, but can someone please tell me what "cross laminated" timber is.  I've been working on a beam design that uses thin hardwood that has cross lamination.  The UBC project appears to have laminated beams, but what are they referring too as "cross laminated".
