Yes, it's a never(?) ending debate.
So just my 2 cts:

Methane is "worth" more than just it's calories !

It makes light in a mantle lamp, it can be stored in an empty tube, it makes a cup of coffee, if you want no more and it can run an engine without much trouble.o.k.?

Burn manure and -yes in some way you can do the same, but not on the same small level.

And: If you burn the non fermentable lignous rests in manure after fermentation, there are more calories if you need them !

But the best is always kept back and fed back into the earth - the fertilizer: Manure for tomorrow!
