Biogas listers, Hello,

Things have been very quiet on the discussion group recently. I will
take the opportunity to publicise my new book "Small-scale, Rural Biogas
Programmes" published by Practical Action Publishers
(http://developmentbookshop.com/smallscale-rural-biogas-programmes) and
available in January. Practical Action have been very busy encouraging
other outlets to sell it, as it will also be available on Amazon,
Booktopia, Readings, Waterstones etc. Chapters are also to be available
on-line, using the DOI codes listed in the book.

The title is slightly misleading, as it is the biogas systems that are
small-scale, not the programmes. The book looks at the very successful
domestic biogas programmes in places such as China (over 40 million
units), India (over 4 million units), Nepal (over 1/4 million units, but
more biogas units per head of population than anywhere else), and other
parts of Asia (more than 1/4 million units). The book looks at what
makes biogas extension programmes effective, also considering some of
the weaknesses that some of these programmes have experienced in the
past. It also details the biogas plant designs that have been installed
in the largest numbers, as well as associated biogas equipment. The book
has large numbers of references to publications on biogas, in the past
as well as the present, both academic and popular.

Best wishes,
Dr David Fulford
