I'm with ya all the way up to the equating of backing off one increment
from what some better-educated-than-me individuals on this listserve
consider an excessive standard to begin with, with mcmansionism....

I'm getting to the point where when a prospective client asks what's the
greenest thing I can do for a new kitchen and I say, don't bring any meat
into it...no wonder I'm not winning the big contracts...

but the point is, a lot of this is about mindset.
