Dear Ron

>Legal limit from 2008: 2000 mg/m3; from 2015: 1250 mg/m3

I think that is 2000/1.24 = 1613 ppm. Unless that is an undiluted value, it is pretty high. 1250/1.24 (or 1.25) = 1000 ppm which is in my 'very good' category of burner. It represents a CO/CO2 ratio of about 0.3%.

Because there is a fixed CO2 Max value for any fuel, one can actually use the CO(EF) value to determine the CO/CO2 ratio. It is actually more accurate that trying to measure using a calculated CO2 value. If some must know how to do it, I will write it out. I once wrote it out for Tami so I can try to find that doc.

The Testo gas combustion analyser calculates the CO2 Max automatically when you enter the dry, ash-free fuel composition. It is the theoretical CO2 value with perfect combustion and no dilution (0% O2). As the CO is subtracting carbon from the CO2, the having the CO(EF) value (0% O2) you can make a comparison based on [CO/(CO2/CO/2)].

Regards

Crispin
