[Stoves] UK cuts subsidies to solar installations

Dear Friends

As the economics of electricity generation hit the iceberg of reality, there
are going to be more and more ships of hope sinking in the sea of
unviability.

ry

This opens new opportunities for the generation of electricity from domestic
heating appliances like space heating stoves and water heaters.

It is particularly relevant to stove developers working in cold regions
where there is a heat source running for much of the time. Water heating at
night, even in warm countries, is an opportunity to run lights or charge
batteries for lights and cell phones all year.

Given the enormous cost of wind installations in the UK (and the subsidies
that go with them) and the 6% output (6% of rated capacity) it won’t be long
before they too see the economic axe falling. Spain has already stopped
funding wind machines, I believe.

The development of extremely efficient and cost-effective lighting solutions
is leading the way for stoves to become the power sources of home, once
again in many countries, certainly for more than ½ of humanity.

Regards

Crispin
