Dear Dean

>I think it's really neat that a stove can either make bio-char or not by
controlling the bottom air so consumers can pick what they want the stove to
do.

I second your call for the stoves to be fitted to be able to do either. I
have noticed that it is easier to control the power the whole time if at
first a stove can make charcoal (which reduces and controls the power) then
burns the charcoal (or ½ charcoal) towards the end, again giving a
controlled power. This means the fuel can be loaded and not fiddled with for
a long time.

Several experiments show that such a stove can be refuelled say, when the
charcoal is ½ gone, with wood, then put back into char-making mode again.
The only trick left is to get a clean burn from all stages/forms of the
burn. That is just air control, basically.

Regards

Crispin
