[Stoves] Biomass Stove from Indonesia -- TLUD data -- and stick-wood fuel

Dear Prof. Nurhuda and all,

Thank you for your informative response.  You are one of the leaders  
in TLUD work worldwide.

With my Webmaster James Schoner (JSS), we will soon have your data and  
info posted to the newly revised    www.drtlud.com   website.

Your work reveals several important things:

1.  Use of segments of stick-wood (could be called "wood segment  
fuel") for TLUDs.

2.  Length of time of burning:  for each batch of fuel, over 1 hour to  
over 2 hours in the larger units.

The above 2 are "answers" to frequently asked questions.  Next is a  
continuing "issue".

3.  Life-span of the UB-03 stove is 6 to 12 months, but we want it to  
last longer.  So I discuss this below and request that Prof Nurhuda  
reply to confirm or correct my statements:

A.  The first part to fail is at the bottom grate or bottom of the  
inner (fuel holding) cylinder.  That is mainly because of the high  
heat of burning charcoal.  We agree that the char should be dumped out  
  (not burned inside of a TLuD).

B.  Does the UB-03 model allow for repairs of that piece, or is the  
entire stove basically lost?  Replacement parts extend stove life if  
available and affordable and easily installed.

C.  Use of different metals for the parts with the shortest lifespan.   
Is there any Indonesian experience with that?

In future messages we can discuss additional aspects of TLUDs.
