[Stoves] In praise of kerosene

Dear Ron

I admit I laughed out loud when I read this from your this morning:

“Talking about a sudden CO2 swing around 1940 up to 450 ppm and back in a decade or so is the most ludicrous one I have seen. Where does that appear in print except Beck, Crispin, and WUWT?”

Perhaps you will have noticed (because you said the Beck said it) that many scientists have, for more than 180 years, been measuring the CO2 level in the atmosphere.

You were aware of that, right? CO2 measurement was not invented in Hawaii in 1957.

Many thousands of measurements were made of CO2 in the period 1930-1950 in multiple places. The work by the Germans in 1938-1942 is truly amazing. A measurement precision of 0.006% was achieved in the 1920’s which is quite a bit better (2 orders of magnitude) than the Hawaiian precision in the period 1957-1965. The CO2 level peaked in 1942-45 at over 400 ppm then dropped to 350 over 20 years. Swallow it – it is good for you.

I suspect no one knows why, though it follows the drop in global temperatures by a few years so perhaps that has something to do with it.

I am not a source of CO2 measurements (except in stove emissions), I simply report what scientists publish. The same with <http://www.wattsupwiththat.com> www.wattsupwiththat.com which is why it is the most popular (by far) science blog on the planet. The fact they publish materials that disagree with your views is of no consequence. Facts are facts.

Independent investigation of truth shall not harm you.

Regards

Crispin
