  Thanks again for more data.

  I think this still indicates a good chance for an industry in Kenya for producing char from wood in stoves - and driving the cost of cooking negative.

   Because yours and his did not go to the full stoves list - I think inadvertently - I will add that Crispin asked about the stoves used to boil water.

  I add Elsen because you mentioned "char dust", because Elsen was an active member of the stoves list in the early days and is one of the founders of the chardust company.  I urge readers to see his website at http://www.chardust.com/, where that company talks about providing legal char.    This also gives me one more chance to apologize for my causing him a lot of grief when I go seriously ill in Nairobi - maybe 15 years ago.
