Hi Paul,

If I may jump in. Talk of billions involve massive generalizations.
Would it be fair to suggest that people living in highly polluted
regions, say in and around industrial zones, or high-smog cities like
Beijing, would benefit less as a result of stove improvements
(relatively speaking, in terms of pollution-related fatalities). And
what of people facing chronic malnourishment, or live in unhygienic
living conditions such as millions of slum-dwellers? Is it possible to
separate actual fatalities by household pollutants from other factors?
And what percentage of the 3 billion use chimney's or cook outdoors?
Or will have access to chimney/flute-type interventions?

My instinct is to caution aggregating not only purported deaths as a
result of household smoke, but also lives saved, without more grounded
holistic studies. Are there such that you are aware of (Christina and
Bob already forwarded some research my way). I'm trying to get my head
around this.

Much appreciated,
Samer
