Partnerships between product manufacturers, distributors, financial
institutions and technology providers are creating new opportunities and
greater access to consumer financing for household energy products.

will feature three innovative cookstove consumer financing partnerships that
use technology to reach new and expanded networks of (in some cases
previously unbanked) consumers:

*	LivelyHoods Installment Payment Arrangement (LIPA). Kenya-based
clean energy product distributor LivelyHoods partnered with pay-as-you-go
service provider Angaza to develop a flexible installment payment system to
collect M-Pesa payments for stoves from its customers.

*	Juhudi Kilimo / BioLite psychometric credit assessment pilot. Using
a tool developed by Entrepreneurial Finance Lab, Kenya-based Microfinance
Institution (MFI) Juhudi Kilimo evaluated credit worthiness for potential
BioLite HomeStove customers using survey questions and interactive exercises
to measure characteristics like business skills, intelligence, integrity and
autonomy.

*	Equity Bank's EcoMoto Loan on Equitel. In 2017, Equity Bank, in
partnership with MicroEnergy Credits, launched a digital loan, available on
both feature and smartphones, through its fintech platform, Equitel, that
allows qualified Equity Bank customers to get instant approval and take an
EcoMoto loan for a stove or solar light.

Webinar Speakers:

Tania Laden is the Executive Director and Co-founder of LivelyHoods, a
social enterprise that creates access to life-changing products through a
women and youth powered last-mile distribution network. Since 2011,
LivelyHoods has created more than 1,100 jobs for youth and women and
distributed over 19,000 clean energy products across 14 branches throughout
Kenya

Elvin Walela is the Project Manager for the Juhudi-BioLite Sustainable
Cookstove Project. In this role, he has worked with BioLite Holdings KE and
Juhudi staff in rural Kenya to provide financially excluded rural
smallholder farmers with greater access to high quality cookstoves through
innovative financing. Elvin joined Juhudi Kilimo microfinance 4 years ago,
and has worked in 8 roles touching on marketing, training, research and
development, communications, fundraising, project management, partnerships
and innovation. 

Matt Goldberg oversees grant project implementation at BioLite, a social
enterprise that develops, manufactures, and distributes advanced clean
energy technologies to off-grid households around the world. BioLite is the
designer and manufacturer of the HomeStove, an ultra-clean biomass
cookstove, that reduces smoke by 90 percent and fuel by over 50 percent-all
while generating electricity. BioLite retails the HomeStove on credit,
working with MFIs in East Africa that have experience financing clean energy
products

Mriganka Lulla is Senior Program Manager at MicroEnergy Credits, where she
co-led the launch of EcoMoto on Equitel - the world's first exclusive clean
energy mobile loan - in partnership with Equity Bank. Mriganka has worked
across the development sector in Kenya, India, South Africa and the USA.

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (U.S. EPA) and Winrock
International have been engaged in the household energy field for many
years, including through coordination of the Partnership for Clean Indoor
Air (PCIA) and its 590 Partners working in 117 countries from 2002-2012.
Since the integration of PCIA and the Global Alliance for Clean Cookstoves
in 2012, Winrock and the U.S. EPA have continued working to increase the
exchange of technical information among public and private organizations
working in the global household energy and health sectors through local
capacity building, targeted technical assistance and field studies and
global knowledge sharing. The goal of these activities is to promote
effective approaches that lead to increased use of clean, reliable,
affordable, efficient, and safe home cooking and heating practices.
