[Greenbuilding] ERV and dehumidification... again....

It's amazing how bad the air exchange industry screwed up their customer
education.

HRV = Heat exchange (heat/cool) only
ERV = Energy exchange (heat/cool) & moisture.

The ERV just helps to maintain whatever the humidity levels between the
inside and outside RH levels. The hrv does no moisture exchange, therefore,
it could be better, or worse, depending on your inside and outside
conditions.

Whether the ERV would be worth the additional cost in your climate is up to
you. They're not that much more if you can pick them up straight from the
distributor.

Unless you live in a desert, you'll most likely need dehumidification in the
summer, unless you're AC is running nonstop and is good at dumping moisture.
