[Greenbuilding] Heating?

I agree he may not want the maintenance of a wood stove but when the cold
hits, you'd be amazed at how people get enthusiastic about stoking the
fire. My focus is to set him up with something ecological that stays within
his budget but is suitable enough so he doesn't do something silly in
desperation - like buy lots of space heaters and rack up a massive electric
bill.
For the hot but not sweltering I suggest massive industrial fans with
exterior shading. For the really hot I don't know anything except mounted
AC's....(minisplits does not make sense for the time period of 5-10 years.
For heating thermal roof panels may be too much for the budget. A pellet
stove may work....or even a wood stove...?
