Stovers,

I recommend that you go to this link and download the 2016 Progress
Report of the GACC. I believe it came out two months ago. Some comments:
http://cleancookstoves.org/resources/reports/2016progress.html

1. It is a good report and worth reading.

2. I don't think the report was mentioned on this Stoves Listserv until
just recently, when it caught my eye. I recommend that the GACC and
other organizations (ESMAP, Winrock, and many more) please be sure to
send a note with links to this Listserv to be sure that we all see the
reports, etc. as soon as they are released. That is what HEDON does.

3. From pages 6 and 7:
> Forthis report, stoves and fuels that meet Tier 2 for efficiency are
> considered efficient and those that meet Tier 3 for indoor emissions
> are consideredclean for health.
AND (sorry, the cut and paste gives a poor format in this email)
> C Cumulatively, an estimated 82 million stoves and fuels, including 53
> million clean and/or
> efficient, have been distributed since 2010. The data also indicate
> that proportions of clean and efficient stoves and fuels are
> being distributed each year —an encouraging trend that is
> critical to achieving the
> Alliance’s objectives.

AND
Figure 1 has a projection of reaching 250 million acceptable stoves by
2020. That might be possible if major programs like India's 50 MILLION
LPG stoves by 2020 and China's major governmental support both kick in
with massive amounts of money.

When we discuss the report, be sure to be clear about what is good, and
not just pick on certain issues with which that you disagree.

Paul
